“Though it tarry, wait for it.” Habakkuk2:3
Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble or suffering without getting discouraged. Passion on the other hand, can be considered as a strong liking or desire for a greater good. Passion said, I want this now and patience says wait for God’s will. We must understand that nothing lasts forever.
Passion can push us through difficult times because we don’t care what it takes to be a blessing. We all have the ability to be who God created us to be. The scripture encourages us to look unto the Lord.
1. Psalm 27:14 (KJV)-Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
2. Isaiah 40:31(KJV)- But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
3. 3. Lamentation 3:25 (KJV)- The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
If we have only what we have experienced, we have nothing; if we have the inspiration of the vision of God, we have more than we can experience (I Corinthians 15:19). Therefore, to have passion for patience, we must remember the three A’s: Acknowledge God’s patience (2 Peter 3:9), Appreciate the Savior’s patience (1 Corinthians 10:13) and Appraise our patience (Romans 5:3).
